Sales of entertainment products fall at WH Smith

Sluggish sales of music and DVDs in a “challenging” trading period on the high street, has seen sales fall at WH Smith, the newsagent and bookseller said on Monday, as it looked ahead to continued depressed demand from consumers.

”As anticipated, trading conditions on the high street were challenging over the Christmas period,” said Kate Swann, chief executive of WH Smith.
