A senior member of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards has said that reformist leaders, including Mohammad Khatami and Mir-Hossein Moussavi, must face justice as the main elements behind the “velvet coup”.

The call on Sunday came amid international criticism of the steps Iran has taken to prosecute protesters – labelled “show trials” by one leading member of US President Barack Obama’s administration.
