Europe lags behind in IPOs

Green shoots there may be, but the leaves are yet to bloom. Almost two years into the credit crunch and Europe’s market for initial public offerings still resembles a wasteland.

Signs of life in IPO wastelandIn spite of signs of life elsewhere, particularly in Asia, Europe’s IPO market remains stagnant, with any equity issuance coming from the long line of walking corporate wounded as they seek to bandage their balance sheets with rights issues and placings.
