How many watches do you have?
I have no idea, it depends what you count as a watch. The more serious I get about them the fewer I have. As well as what people conventionally regard as precious watches, I have plenty of Swatches and all sorts of plastic things. Just because a watch is inexpensive does not mean it is not a proper watch.

When did you become interested in watches
My father is a watch collector, which is what got me going. He loves watches and it was he who gave me my first proper ones. I still have the watches that I had at school; like the Pulsar Time Computer my father gave me. For my 21st birthday he gave me an Omega Speedmaster, which looks great now and looked pretty good then too. There is quite a lot of interest around Omega at the moment, with George Somlo [a dealer in old watches] going into partnership with them; opening a boutique for vintage Omegas in London.
