The New York Times ended a plan to sell the Boston Globe after cost cuts and a price rise helped “significantly improve” the newspaper’s finances.

In a tersely worded statement on Wednesday night, the New York Times said that “after careful consideration and analysis, it has terminated the process to explore the sale of The Boston Globe, Boston.com and related businesses”.
