India to support domestic demand

India will maintain its policies to stimulate domestic demand until a stronger global recovery brings a boost to its languishing export sector, the finance minister said on Tuesday.

Pranab Mukherjee told executives gathered for the World Economic Forum that India intended to step up investment in agriculture and infrastructure, while maintaining “appropriate fiscal and monetary policies”.
