Controversial plans for a modern residential development at the former Chelsea Barracks site in west London have been scrapped by Qatari Diar, the sovereign wealth investor.

There has been fierce opposition to the development over the past two-and-a-half years, most notably from the Prince of Wales, who criticised its modern design.
