Liverpool football club might have a global profile, but behind the scenes it faces challenges that will be familiar to many small to mid-sized companies.

Liverpool FC employs between 260 and 270 staff, and has a fairly modest turnover of £150m ($300m) a year. It has a small IT team, tasked with supporting both playing and non-playing operations, the latter including conferences and events.
