Financials retreat as Kospi slides 2.3%

Seoul led a retreat for stock markets in the region on Monday as investors responded to disappointing US employment figures released at the end of last week.

The Kospi index fell 2.3 per cent to 1,606.90, its biggest daily drop in a month and a half and its lowest closing level since the end of August.
