Accounting head warns on capping liabilities

The head of the USaccounting regulator, who yesterday announced plans to resign, warned auditors that the American people would not support them getting new protection against potentially catastrophic legal claims anytime soon.

William McDonough, chairman of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, will leave his post on November 30, or when his successor is appointed.
