Inside the sprawling parliament house in Canberra, at the end of a long hallway in the building’s westernmost corner, is the office of Barnaby Joyce.

Mr Joyce is a senator from the state of Queensland for the National party, junior partner to the Liberals in the ruling coalition. He is officially part of the government.
