Corporate India rushes to defence of Tata's Nano car

In a rare show of unity, India's corporate leaders are rallying behind the Tata group in a bid to rescue its project to build the world's cheapest car.

The plant in West Bengal for building the Nano, regarded as a showcase example of Indian engineering ingenuity, was besieged yesterday by political activists and farmers, forcing Mumbai-based Tata to suspend construction work.
