Candidates vie for top OECD post

Poland, Mexico and South Korea have nominated high-profile candidates for the post of secretary-general of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, but more contenders could emerge this week from Japan, the US and France.

The successful candidate, who will take over from Donald Johnston next year, will join the Paris-based economic institution at a critical time as the OECD seeks to play a bigger role in a fast-globalising world.
