Only 34% support building new nuclear plants, says poll

Only a third of the public supports the building of new nuclear power stations in Britain, according to a poll carried out for the Financial Times.

The scepticism suggests that the government faces a significant challenge in persuading the country that fresh investment in nuclear energy is needed.
