China promotes Africa ties ahead of talks

Chinese officials sought on Tuesday to promote the country’s growing ties with Africa ahead of a meeting of the African Development Bank in Shanghai.

The ADB plays a complementary and growing role to the World Bank in providing development assistance. Its annual board of governors meeting is taking place on Wednesday and Thursday outside the continent for the second time in the bank’s history.
