UK house prices hold steady

UK house prices recorded their third rise in four months, according to a closely watched index, suggesting that the troubled housing market has stabilised despite very low turnover.

According to the Nationwide House Price Index, published on Tuesday, average house prices in June rose by 0.9 per cent over the previous month, while quarter-on-quarter – a less volatile measure – they increased by the same amount.
