Greene King on track despite weaker sales

Greene King on Tuesday said it was on track to meet its expectations for the current financial year in spite of weaker sales and rising costs, boosting shares in the pubs and brewing group.

In the first of a run of news due this week from UK pub groups, Greene King said “market conditions remain challenging” with consumer spending continuing to contract.
