The creation of France’s new property champion has been an extraordinary feat. Just seven years ago, Foncière des Régions had assets of €50m. With yet another transformational deal last month, it is today on course for €14bn of assets, making it the biggest player in the French sector, ahead of rivals such as Unibail, Klépierre and Gecina.
The deal that has drawn all eyes is an agreement, unveiled on February 22, to acquire control of its quoted Italian rival Beni Stabili, which has assets of €4bn.
