Spanish adventure fizzles out at BSkyB

The prospect of a little Spanish sunshine has dimmed for British Sky Broadcasting, as the satellite broadcaster told investors on Friday it was not involved in an auction for Digital Plus, its Spanish counterpart.

BSkyB had been one of at least five prospective purchasers of the company, which analysts have valued at more than €3bn (£2.4bn), but investors greeted news that it was no longer involved with relief.
