Road charge greatly benefits London, research finds

London's congestion charge has greatly benefited the capital and the proposed westward extension is also likely to be successful, research has shown.

The biggest gainers of the extension to Kensington and Chelsea will be the residents who will be covered by the new charging zone, the research finds. They will be able to drive into the central zone for 80p a day compared with the current charge of £8.
