Alarm over threat to UK work training

Employers could be “left short of the skills they need to take advantage of the upturn in the economy”, because of “mounting uncertainty” about the future of government-funded training, according to the EEF employers’ body.

Its comments show some companies are pondering the problems of the eventual recovery amid tentative signs the economy is beginning to stabilise, rather than exclusively focusing on the quandaries caused by recession.
