Hungary remains committed to adopting the euro by the end of the decade, despite recent uncertainty about the long-term prospects of the single currency, the country's finance minister has said.
While the European Union's constitutional crisis and the sluggish economic performance of the 12-nation bloc have damaged the euro, Janos Veres said in an interview with the Financial Times that he did not foresee a wider crisis for the single currency and that Hungary had no option but to continue aiming to join the eurozone in 2010.
