Refinancing gets tougher in Asia

The environment for refinancing Asian corporate debt has worsened markedly in recent weeks as the global credit crisis continues to bite, according to Standard & Poor’s, the ratings agency.

“Banks are much more cautions about lending, causing credit growth to decelerate substantially relative to the past couple of years,” said Diane Vazza, head of S&P’s global fixed income research group.
