Thai growth slows amid instability

Thailand’s economic growth slowed in the third quarter to a year-on-year rate of 4 per cent, data showed on Monday, as domestic political instability amplified the effects of the global financial crisis in the country’s leading export markets.

Although the result is better than some of the other countries in the region and the agricultural sector grew by nearly 10 per cent, the overall figures were worse than most analysts predicted.
