Democrats unveil bill for CEO pay vote

The first US legislative effort for two years aimed at curbing excessive executive pay emerged on Thursday as Barney Frank, a top Democrat, introduced a bill that would require public companies to allow non-binding shareholder votes on pay packets.

The move comes as the issue of executive pay promises to be centre stage as companies prepare for the annual meetings season.
