Legal challenge to postal vote fraud ruling

Three top judges will today consider a legal challenge to the ruling by an election commissioner in Birmingham in a case of alleged vote-rigging that has cast a shadow over the general election.

While the Birmingham case centred on city council elections, lawyers say the decision by the Court of Appeal could have implications for any challenges resulting from this week's vote, particularly in the area of postal voting.
