UK manufacturing rises after three-month lull

Manufacturing output in the UK rose for the first time in three months during November, but underlying growth remained anaemic, data released on Thursday showed.

The Office for National Statistics said that production by manufacturers rose 0.3 per cent between October and November, boosted by a sharp increase in output by the electrical and optical equipment industries.
