Yasmin Jetha has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Financial Times. Jetha will be leading and developing the Financial Times’ global operations strategy, streamlining business processes and ensuring further increases in productivity. She will also ensure that there is the smooth operational integration of the Financial Times’ recent acquisitions.

The Financial Times has made three acquisitions in the last six months, including recruitment website Exec-Appointments, fund management information provider Money-Media and two of the Foreign Direct Investment market’s leading intelligence and benchmarking products, OCOMonitor and OCOAssess.

Jetha joined the Financial Times as Chief Information Officer in January 2006 and has been responsible for all IT services, including the linking of 24 global print sites to enable the production of seven newspaper editions a day. She will retain her role as CIO in addition to her COO responsibilities.

FT CEO John Ridding said: “Yasmin will play a crucial role as COO, identifying opportunities for the FT to be more efficient across all departments in order to free resources for investing in talent and new products. Our growing number of acquisitions also raises the need and the opportunity for economies of scale and the integration of the relevant systems and information technology across our businesses and platforms.”
