Karachi struggles to regain sense of stability

Pakistani officials were looking at ways to stabilise the country’s stock market after it fell a further 3 per cent on Wednesday amid rising political uncertainty.

The latest fall, which followed a 3.9 per cent drop on Tuesday, immediately prompted calls from investors and brokers for radical steps including a short term freeze on trading in the benchmark KSE-100 index.
