Honduras’s de facto authorities on Wednesday detained dozens of supporters of Manuel Zelaya, the country’s ousted president, under new powers that curb civil liberties.
More than 50 people were arrested and taken into custody after police stormed the National Institute for Agrarian Reform in Tegucigalpa early on Thursday morning. The detainees had been staying at the Inra for the past three months to support Mr Zelaya in his bid to regain power.
