There are few people who have as much vested in a healthier America as Risa Lavizzo-Mourey. As president and chief executive of the influential Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the largest healthcare philanthropy, she is charged with helping transform the country’s health systems.

It is a herculean task – healthcare costs are rising while more than 45m people, about 16 per cent of the US population, are uninsured.
