GFI seeks injunction over ‘gardening leave’

GFI Group, the number one ranked interdealer broker in credit derivatives, will square up in the New York supreme court today against 22 of its former brokers who resigned last month and began working for a rival.

GFI hopes to obtain an injunction that would prevent its former employees from working for Standard Credit Securities, a unit of interdealer broker Compagnie Financière Tradition, for an indefinite period known as “gardening leave”.
