Cameron rattled by scale of tax cut proposals

A flagship Conservative policy review body is poised to recommend multi-billion pound tax cuts next month in an embarrassing rebuff to David Cameron's stance that will fuel rightwing unease about the Tory leader.

The Tax Reform Commission, set up by the Tories last year to recommend options for "simpler, flatter and fairer" taxes, has come up with a radical set of proposals - far more radical than the party leadership expected or wanted.
