Sir, Instead of preparing for the "reconstruction" of Cuba ("US steps up planning for a Cuba without Castro", November 1), the US should discard its failed policy of the past four decades. Given the shambles it has made of regime change and nation-building in Iraq, the Bush administration might consider a more progressive approach to Cuba.
