MG plans hit by badge dispute

Nanjing Automobile’s plans to sell MG-branded cars across Europe have been hit by a dispute over ownership of the MG badge with the administrator of the Dutch subsidiary of the failed British carmaker MG Rover.

Last year Nanjing, China’s oldest carmaker, bought the British assets of MG Rover including the MG name and the carmaker’s Longbridge plant in Birmingham, and is hoping to sell the cars in Europe and in China.
