African-Americans split over support for Obama

Michelle Obama was courting a crucial group of voters as she sat in a pew at Bible Way Church in Columbia, South Carolina, swaying to the powerful song of the gospel choir.

So, too, was Chelsea Clinton, who sat at the other side of the African-American church on Sunday morning, flanked by Ann and Vernon Jordan, the influential black attorney and former adviser to President Bill Clinton.
