India embassy blast rocks Kabul

A suicide car bomber attacked the Indian embassy in Kabul on Thursday, killing 17 people and raising the risk of fresh tensions in South Asia where India has long accused rival Pakistan of sponsoring militant violence.

More than 70 people were wounded when the blast ripped through a city-centre street during the morning rush hour, dismembering bystanders and mangling cars in the second big attack on the Indian mission in 15 months.
