Antitrust offer from shipping lines body

Shipping lines on Thursday offered to give up some of their rights to share information and set common prices under a proposal submitted to the European competition authorities.

The proposal was drawn up by the European Liner Affairs Association, a trade body for shipping lines which operate scheduled shipping services. The change to the rules will affect any liner shipping service calling in Europe, regardless of the nationality of its owner.
