The Singapore government plans to sue the Asian edition of the Wall Street Journal for contempt of court as another Dow Jones publication is fighting a defamation suit filed by senior government officials.

The city-state’s attorney-general cited two editorial comments and a letter from Chee Soon Juan, an opposition leader, published in the newspaper in June and July that “impugn the impartiality, integrity and independence of the Singapore judiciary”.
