Microsoft feels way to next generation of PCs

Get ready for some flicks, pivot-rotating, pinch-and-zoom and even a little chiral scrolling as fingers move from the keyboard and mouse to the computer screen.

Touch screens will take off on PCs next week with the introduction of Microsoft’s Windows 7 software. But few in the industry expect touch technology to match the success among consumers that it has enjoyed on the iPhone.
