Cheerleaders end up groaning as the reality dawns

Last year UK companies, accountants and regulators were among the main cheerleaders of the European Union decision to introduce International Financial Reporting Standards.

But as IFRS has become a reality and the first revamped accounts are released, many groups are seeing costs and complications, but few of the purported benefits.
