EDF reactor timetable sparks concern

Concerns are mounting over potential delays to the construction of EDF’s new generation nuclear reactor in northern France, prompting the state-controlled utility to accelerate the project by putting teams to work around the clock.

The move threatens to boost the €4bn ($6bn) cost of the EPR project in Flamanville, France’s showcase for the new generation nuclear technology that it hopes to export around the world.
