Tighter lobbying curbs for peers

Peers face tighter curbs on lobbying and policing by their own standards commissioner, under the latest report designed to restore trust in parliament.

The recommendations on Thursday to raise standards in the Lords came as a former Labour minister, Tony McNulty, apologised to MPs after being ordered to repay £13,837 of expenses.
