Neue Zürcher Bank, the small Swiss private bank, on Friday said it had dismissed with immediate effect Hansrüdi Schumacher, the partner indicted this week by the US authorities for his alleged role in helping rich US clients evade tax.

The bank declined to comment on whether other employees might leave or on the future of its private banking franchise for wealthy Americans.
