Other G7 members have no plans to follow US

Finance ministers from the world’s richest countries on Monday expressed sympathy and support for the proposed US bail-out but showed no immediate sign of following suit.

In a conference call convened by Hank Paulson, US Treasury secretary, his counterparts in the Group of Seven economies promised continued vigilance over developments in the global financial system but said they saw no reason to organise a US-style rescue operation in their own markets.
