Highstreet DVD squeeze hits ChoicesUK

The tough market for retailers of DVDs, CDs and computer games claimed another victim on Tuesday as ChoicesUK said it was seeking “to appoint administrators as soon as possible.”

ChoicesUK’s difficulties follow the collapse of Fopp, the leading independent chain of music retailers, in June, and before that MusicZone and MVC. The poor trading climate also weighed on profits at HMV and Virgin. HMV recently bought the Fopp brand and six of its 85 stores.
