Shares in Enterprise Inns jumped by a fifth on Tuesday after the pub group surprised investors by saying it had not seen a further deterioration in trading over the past 10 weeks.

In a trading update, the group said it had seen “no material change” to its trading since its last update in January, when it reported a 8 per cent decline in average pub profit for the 16 weeks to January 17.
