Radio waves hit remaining supporters

The retreat of GCap, once the champion of digital radio and of the digital audio broadcasting format adopted in the UK to broadcast it, unnerved remaining supporters of the technology on Monday.

GCap is still committed by contract to about 80 per cent of its digital broadcasts, but is to quit all the commitments that it can on Digital One, currently the sole national commercial digital radio outlet.
