Astra data set to lift cholesterol drug sales

AstraZeneca, the Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company, is set to receive a boost to sales of its cholesterol-lowering drug Crestor after a study released yesterday showed it significantly reduced the risk of severe heart attacks.

Jupiter, a trial funded by the company, showed a 44 per cent relative reduction in cardiovascular death and heart attack in apparently healthy older people using Crestor.
