Chechnya reaps reward of fragile stablity

Russian security forces clashed with rebels in Chechnya hours after Moscow declared an end to a decade of counter terrorism operations in the region, claiming stability had been restored.

Russian forces exchanged fire with a group of fighters encountered during a reconnaissance operation in a mountain forest in Chechnya, Interfax reported on Friday, a day after the clash occurred. There were no casualties among the Russian forces.
